Description

Smoky and spicy shrimp, sweet and tangy slaw, and a zesty garlic lime sauce make these Blackened Shrimp Tacos seriously delicious!

Ingredients

Scale

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1/2 Tbsp honey

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp red wine vinegar

1/4 tsp salt

Freshly cracked pepper

1/2 bag coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)

3 green onions, sliced

1/3 cup mayonnaise (for sauce)

1/8 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1/8 tsp salt

1 lime (1 Tbsp juice)

1 Tbsp smoked paprika

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp cumin

1/4 tsp cayenne

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp salt

Freshly cracked pepper

1/2 lb peeled and deveined shrimp (30/40 count)

1 Tbsp butter

1 clove garlic, minced

6 small corn tortillas

3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Mix mayo, honey, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper for coleslaw dressing.

2. Toss coleslaw mix and green onions with dressing. Chill until ready to serve.

3. Mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, and lime juice to make garlic lime sauce. Set aside.

4. Toast tortillas in dry skillet until edges brown. Keep warm under a towel.

5. Mix all blackening spices in a small bowl.

6. Coat shrimp in seasoning evenly.

7. Heat butter and minced garlic in skillet over medium heat.

8. Add shrimp and cook until opaque and firm (3-5 mins). Remove from heat.

9. Assemble tacos: slaw, 3 shrimp, garlic lime sauce, green onions, squeeze of lime.

10. Serve immediately.

Notes

Prep slaw first to allow flavors to meld.

Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.

Keep tortillas warm with a towel for soft texture.

Double the spice mix and store for future use.
